Fungi on Stamps: Channel Islands to Czechoslovakia

Items of note in this section are the numerous high quality images issued by the Comoro Islands [VIEW] even though many are speculative issues rather than purely postal. The same applies in this section to issues from the Congo [for example VIEW and VIEW], both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo.

However, the Republic of the Congo exemplifies the worst aspects of speculative issues with its wide variety of combinations of topics from mushrooms and minerals [VIEW], through mushrooms and owls [VIEW] to mushrooms and Disney [VIEW]. Such issues improve the saleability of stamp issues by increasing the range of interested customers across at least two thematic interests. It's philatelic bloat.
